Milan History

Milan is the northern capital of Italy and has excelled in all fields of commerce. Tourists are attracted to its wide range of art and music, including major works by Leonardo da Vinci such as The Last Supper.

Milan was hugely influenced by the Baroque in the 17th and 18th centuries and is home to many cultural institutions accounting for a tenth of the national total of visitors. It is recognised as one of the four fashion capitals of the world and has two historic Serie A football teams.
